THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Army Recruiting Office, Thiruvananthapuram, is conducting a recruitment rally from January 16 to 23 at the Maharaja’s College Stadium, Ernakulam.� The rally is open to male candidates of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki and Ernakulam districts for the category of Soldier Nursing Assistant, Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Soldier General Duty categories.

�For Soldier Nursing Assistant, Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical categories, the recruitment will be held for the candidates of Thiruvananthapuram on January 16; Kollam and Idukki on January 17; Kottayam and Ernakulam on January 18 and Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta on January 19.

�For the category of Soldier General Duty, recruitment will be on January 20 for candidates of Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts, January 21 for Kollam and Idukki districts, January 22 for Kottayam and Ernakulam districts and January 23 for Alappuzha district.

�Recruitment for Junior Commissioned Officers as religious teachers (Pandit, Granti, Maulvi, Padre and Buddhist monk) and Havildar Survey Auto Cartographer will be held on January 22 and Re-enrolment of ex-servicemen of Army into DSC as Soldier GD (all districts) will be held on January 23.

എഴുകോണ്‍: ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്‍ഡറി സ്‌കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ തമ്മിലുണ്ടായ തര്‍ക്കം നാടിന്റെ ഉറക്കം കെടുത്തുന്നു. പ്രദേശത്തെ ചില വീടുകള്‍ ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് ആശങ്കയ്ക്കു കാരണമായി. ഇരുമ്പനങ്ങാട്ടുള്ള സ്വകാര്യവിദ്യാലയത്തിലെ പ്ലസ്‌വണ്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥി അതുല്‍, പ്ലസ്ടു വിദ്യാര്‍ഥി മാറനാട് സ്വദേശി വിഷ്ണു എന്നിവരുടെ വീടുകളാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്.ഇതേത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് പ്രദേശത്ത് ഹര്‍ത്താല്‍ നടന്നു.

നാളുകള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പ് സ്‌കൂള്‍ ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തിനു മുന്നില്‍ പ്ലസ്‌വണ്‍, പ്ലസ്ടു വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ തമ്മിലുണ്ടായ തര്‍ക്കം സ്‌കൂള്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ രമ്യതയിലെത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. പുറത്തുനിന്നുള്ളവര്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാര്‍ട്ടികളുടെ പിന്‍ബലത്തില്‍ ഇതില്‍ ഇടപെട്ടതോടെ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ ഇരുചേരികളിലായി.

പുറത്തുനിന്നുള്ളവര്‍ അനാവശ്യമായി ഇരുമ്പനങ്ങാട് സ്‌കൂള്‍ പരിസരത്തും കാന്റീനിലും ചുറ്റിത്തിരിയുന്നത് പതിവാണ്. ബൈക്കിലും മറ്റും പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നടന്ന് ശല്യപ്പെടുത്താറുമുണ്ട്. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് സ്‌കൂള്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ എഴുകോണ്‍ പോലീസില്‍ പരാതിപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ക്ലാസ് മുറികളില്‍ വ്യാപകമായി മലം തേച്ചുപിടിപ്പിച്ചും ലൈബ്രറിയില്‍ നശീകരണം നടത്തിയുമാണ് അക്രമികള്‍ ഇതിനോടു പ്രതികരിച്ചത്.

കാമ്പസിലും പരിസരത്തും ചുറ്റിത്തിരിയുന്ന 'ചേട്ടന്മാരെ' കുട്ടികള്‍ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നതും പതിവാണെന്ന് സ്‌കൂള്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഒരു പ്ലസ്ടു വിദ്യാര്‍ഥി തുറിച്ചുനോക്കിയെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ചാണ് ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ സംഭവങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയത്.

കളി കാര്യമായതോടെ നാട്ടിലെ സമാധാനജീവിതം തകര്‍ന്നു. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളുടെ ഭാവി സംരക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ സംഘടിച്ചു നീങ്ങാനാണ് രക്ഷിതാക്കളുടെ തീരുമാനം. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ക്കു ഭീഷണിയാകുന്നവരെ കണ്ടെത്തി പോലീസ് നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്നും ഇവര്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.

PSC extended the rank Lists

Thiruvananthapuram.At last  PSC decided to extend the validity of Rank lists up to next April 30.The validity of some rank lists like LDC and LGS ends on December 31 this year.So the PSC's decision to extend validity will be a great healp to those who included in the rank lists.Earlier PSC's decisions to not to extend the rank lists made wide spread agitation.

Tragic accident near Ampalathumkala.4 died

Ampalathumkala: A tragic accident occured near Ampalathumkala-Irumpanangad Road at NH 744 between a Zen Estilo car and a tipper at3.45PM today.Four passengers  were died.Four children were  injured and one of them is serious.The car is from  Mathra Punalur to Kollam.Sunil(35),wife Juli(30), their son Sangeeth  mother Rajeswari(65) were died.

Mullaperiyar Crisis

The Aryankavu-Shencotta stretch of the Kollam-Thirumangalam National Highway 208 wears a deserted look following the road blockade exercise by the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam at Shencotta from 10 a.m. No vehicles are being allowed to proceed to Kerala from Schencotta in Tamil Nadu and no vehicles are being allowed to proceed to Tamil Nadu from Aryankavu in Kerala. An uneasy calm prevails along this stretch of the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border area.

But at Aryankavu and Schencotta there is a heavy crush of vehicles waiting to resume journey as soon as the blockade is lifted. Police anticipate a snarl-up along the blocked stretch of the highway once the blockade is lifted. While a heavy police force from Kerala is manning the Aryankavu point, a heavy force of the Tamil Nadu police is manning the Shencotta point.

Those held up on either side include thousands of Sabarimala pilgrims. The MDMK had called the blockade to protest against the Kerala Government’s demand to decommission the 117 year old Mullaperiyar dam. On Tuesday night at least three KSRTC buses and Kerala registration lorry were stoned at Kottavasal. A restaurant run by a Keralite at Kottavasal in Tamil Nadu close to the border was also attacked.
